Network MediSoft Version 14
Because
MediSoft uses the latest Advantage™ Database
Server, network traffic is
decreased which, in turn, improves performance
[less data traveling].
Above the Advanced
Patient Accounting for one user, in the
Client/Server setting, the database does all of the
work requested by its clients. The Advantage™ Database
Server [MediSoft's server engine] receives the request for a database operation from
the client, locates the database files on the server, processes
the database operation, then returns only the results to the
client.
The
Advantage™ Database Server integrity
system ensures that database updates run to completion - it
will not execute partial commands. The integrity of your data
no longer depends on the stability of the workstations or
the network.
IMPORTANT FOR ALL SYSTEMS: WE
STRONGLY RECOMMEND A VIDEO CARD WITH AT
LEAST 256 MB RAM. THIS IS EXTREMELY
IMPORTANT AS NEW VERSIONS OF MEDISOFT
REQUIRE MORE RESOURCES. NOT HAVING A
CARD WITH ITS OWN MEMORY WILL RESULT IN
A SLOWER SYSTEM.
Connection licenses to the database server are available for
2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 users.
- Define in Program Options which aging categories your
office will use for patient and insurance aging.
- Assign an Insurance Withhold code type to procedure codes
for insurance carriers that withhold a percentage of the
payment until a later date.
- Export statements, claim forms, reports and lists to plain
text files.
- New version of the Report Designer includes the option
to print title pages and new options for ledger style reports.
- Verify a patient’s eligibility status in a healthcare
plan with Eligibility Verification. You may request an eligibility
inquiry that will include information on the patient’s
deductible, maximum benefits, co-payments and coinsurance
amounts, and status in the specific plan programs (spin
down, CHCUP [CHILD CHECK UP] dates, PCP, etc.). To use this option, just
enroll with NDC® Health and pay a fee for each eligibility
request.
- Process your credit card transactions directly from MediSoft.
To use this option, enroll with NDC® and pay enrollment
and per transaction fees. There is also a percentage fee
of the total credit card charges similar to the credit card
terminal you are already using.
- Send your statements electronically to MedPrint. For a
small per statement fee, MedPrint will print, fold, and
mail your standard and remainder statements. This saves
you the hassle and cost associated with printing, postage,
and mailing.
A complete client/server system requires the
purchase of MediSoft Advanced Client/Server and an appropriate
number of database licenses for your network -- Requires at
least a 2 user database license.
Version 11 Service Pack 4 will include
fields for the National Provider
Identifier, NPI. If you
do not own at least Version 11, you will
need to upgrade to Version 14.
Note on Windows Vista
MediSoft
Version 14 is Windows Vista Business
compatible. MediSoft
Version 12, as well as earlier versions,
do not currently function with the
Microsoft Windows Vista operating
system. Therefore, we cannot make any
guarantee of, or warranty the stability
or functionality of, any version of
MediSoft used in conjunction with
Microsoft Windows Vista. We will be
conducting compatibility testing and
will provide updates as they become
available.
